Experiencing The Love of Koinonia {4}

Being part of a community means sharing your heart, your experiences, your good and your bad. It means being real. It means learning and gleaning from one another. And that is what this Koinonia community here is all about. That is what I want to be and what I want Sharing the Journey to be. SO, while your here, I wonder if you would take a moment to share what it is that you like to read about, want to learn about, want to see more topics on? What is relevant to you? If you follow by email, would you mind cliking HERE, and letting me know? If you are leaving your link, afterwards would you leave a comment and sharing? If you are just a lurker ( I love you lurkers!) would you mind, this once, taking a moment and commenting and sharing what YOU want to see? I’d really love to hear YOUR voice and what speaks to YOUR heart.

I am excited to introduce you to this weeks featured Koinonia community member:

The Purposeful Mom

ME: Jenn, please tell us a little about yourself, your blog and why you blog and anything else you think our community would enjoy knowing about you.

JENN: I am a daughter of Jesus, a wife to a wonderful husband and mom to three sweet kids. My husband is a pastor and I am very privileged to stay home with our children! We desire to be a family of strong witnesses for the Lord, devoted to Him in each aspect of our lives. My blog, The Purposeful Mom, started a couple of years ago as a place for me to share what the Lord was teaching me through time in His Word. That was all I did for quite some time.

Recently, after praying over my blog, I felt led to make it a part of my daily life as a way to share how our family is learning to live with purpose in all areas of our lives: the spiritual, the emotional, the financial and the practical. At The Purposeful Mom, I share devotions, thoughts on parenting and using Scripture in daily life, recipes and kids crafts. I am working on several series including a children’s Scripture memory unit called God’s Word in My Heart. I’d love to have you join me as we live for God’s purpose in our lives!

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:1-3 NKJV

There are SO many of us out here in the world wide web… trying to find a voice, sharing our hearts, ministering to one another… and I want to get to know you, and I want you to know me.

So each Thursday, we are going to do that. We are going to share in Koinonia. I hope you join in. You don’t have to write anything special, or have anything specially prepared for this day. Just pick one of the posts you’ve written this week that will lead others experience the love of Koinonia… it can be about anything. Then, if you would, include either a link back or include the button somewhere (you can get the code here), so that we can all find one another.

And… just so we can get to know one another even more, each week I’ll randomly pick one of you to feature!

    I enjoyed your visit with Jenn. So many of the blogs that I read are from young moms. (Anyone under 35 is young.) I am a great-grandma with a young heart, and sometimes, I long to see people who are where I am in life. I have raised a family, retired from my career, and now find myself unconnected. If not for my church and my God, I would be adrift.

      Marti, I can totally understand that!! It’s funny… I guess I’m no longer a young mom! :) LOL. But that is fine!!! With age comes wisdom right? That is my prayer anyway, that the older I get the more wisdom in the Lord I can have and that the Lord would use me for HIS glory!!! I am so sorry you feel unconnected. I DO know that feeling!! Keep lifting your hearts desire up in prayer … HE is faithful!

    I think this is a great idea to introduce one blogger each week. Thanks for introducing us to Jenn – I’m going to check out her blog.
    I love reading about people’s real lives – sharing from the heart about personal struggles and victories. That’s what I find encouraging.

    I loved reading a little bit about Jenn, thanks for this post. Your blog is really great, I can see you put time and effort into making it good. It’s great to see people like you girls writing really important things, things that lift us up, in this world of so much foolishness, that’s refreshing. Kisses from Brazil!
